Official Jefferson County records must be requested from the office that created or maintains them. Court documents belong with the clerk, sheriff reports and jail records begin at the Law Center, and statewide criminal-history checks come from Iowa DCI. Jefferson County Criminal History is a private reference resource and cannot receive or fulfill a government records request.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private resource cannot issue a record, perform an official check, correct government data, or accept an Iowa expungement filing.
